GENERAL ELECTION REMINDER

The candidate filing period for the City of War general election ends this Saturday, January 25th. Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 7AM to 3PM. Anyone that wishes to file needs to do so as soon as possible. Candidates are allowed to mail their filing application along with their filing fee to the city if needed, BUT postage must be dated no later than January 25th to be accepted. Candidates are also able to drop their application in the blue drop box outside of city hall (please place application and filing fee in envelope). All candidate filing forms must be notarized before being submitted.

Filings Fees are as follows – Council: $15.00 – City Recorder: $20.00 – Mayor: $25.00

When using the blue drop box stationed outside of City Hall please make sure that all payments are sealed in an envelope with your name written on the outside. This helps ensure that payments aren’t lost and are posted to the correct accounts when collected by city clerks.
